Right Time to Start Solid Food for the Baby
As you find your baby is growing well, you need to familiar with her/his habits. You also need to understand her digestive system when your baby becomes six months old. You need not worry to give your baby solid food before six months because infant digestive system cannot digest solid food. Even first stage of cereals is not recommended for less than six months old baby.
Serving right type of solid food is essential for infant’s healthy growth. Parents are always eager that their baby likes new food and flavors. If you try to give your baby solid foods before six months it might harm your baby’s digestive system. Up to six months baby’s intestinal tract may not be fully developed. In such case if you try to give her solid food, then your baby get digestive problem like gas, constipationor stomach pain. It also causes to develop food allergies. If your baby gets hungrier, you can give bottle feeding. Take advice of your baby’s pediatrician that what type of food is appropriate for your baby.
Know your baby is ready for solid food
You need to observe your baby carefully for her/his complete growth. Your more attention can benefits your baby and yourself on long-term.
You can find that your baby is ready to take solid food once you find some signs as below.

You find your baby’s weight increasing and get doubled of his birth weight, approximately thirteen pounds.

He/she needs more breastfeeding or bottle feeding in a day.

Your baby can capable to swallow food.
You can start giving solid foods once you found above signs. You can start first stage of cereals by giving alternate flavor to your baby. Find her liking taste and then try different taste step-by-step. Don’t try to give more different foods together. Keep at least three to four days gap to introduce new food or flavor. If your baby dislike any taste and she refuses to eat, in such case you can give different taste.
Keep Some Interval when you Try Different Taste
Step-by-step, you can also try from main food groups as fruit and vegetables, cow’s milk and dairy products, bread, rice, potatoes, pasta and eggs, beans. Try to avoid more salt, sugar and oily food that contain fat. You should also avoid spicy foods. You can give her fruit juices, vegetables soups as it is very beneficial to your baby’s health. Always give fresh fruits and vegetables to your baby. Avoid habituated your baby with junk foods.
You need to maintain regular time schedule to give food to your baby. You can give food to your baby before some time of feeding milk. You can also give after some time of milk feeding. Remember, you need to keep some interval to feed your baby. You should know that your baby really get hungry and like to eat food. Then, you can offer her solid food. You need to mesh food properly using blander and keep it thin so your baby can swallow without any trouble. Once your baby likes fruits, vegetables and cereal, try to add some different food item or taste. You can serve her minimum three times in a day after seven months.
Schedule your Baby’s Meal
Remember, when you give solid food, you need to spare some time and keep patience. Do not make hurry or force your baby to eat. If you find that baby is neglecting to eat food, try when she gets hungry. Understanding baby’s food taste and time is very essential to make her healthy and happy. Your baby will play happily only when her stomach is full. Healthy habit of eatingand sleeping, it is very beneficial for her growth as well as benefit for mother too.
