If you are a foreigner or a NRI and is looking for adoption prospects in India, then be ready to devote sufficient amount of time for this job. Adopting a child especially if you are foreigner can be a time consuming task for you. There is a whole list of rules and regulations that you have to follow to ensure that you come out victorious with a cute little Indian baby in your arms and return to your home country and live happily ever after.
Here are a few requirements that are necessary for foreign adoption in India:
-
The first and foremost thing is that you have to be represented by a child welfare organization certified and given authorization by CARA which is Central Adoption Resource Agency. Unless and until you have a legit agency sponsoring you there is no way that you will be allowed to fill in your form for adoption. There is no such thing as direct adoption when it comes to Foreign Parent Adoption of Indian children.
-
The age factor and the health status of the couple also play a very important role in adoption. Moreover, the couple should be financially stable to support all the needs and requirements of the child.
