Truant is a sort of behavioral disorder. Running away from school or away from home without informing is a delinquency.  School is a place of knowledge and fun. Hookie or truant should be the last thing in the Childs mind.  Usually wealthy families are a witness to truant found in a research. When money comes in middle children lose the importance of learning about morals and discipline. With the impression that money can buy anything they forget values and neither do bother about school. 

At a stage even schools are to be blamed for truants and drop outs. Few poor children who are unable to afford for school equipments like the compass box, paint box or fancy bags, they get ashamed and run away from school. Teachers and parents are sole responsible for all the feelings a child imbibes during school age. Because of these feeling of insecurity and consciousness he runs away or becomes a drop out.
Few children find it difficult to stay at a place for long. They become restless and give up running away to escape from the punishments from the teacher. Teachers should understand and respond in a better way understanding and helping the child making his time in school more interesting.
