Style of Parenting
Parenting styles are inspired by civilization, upbringing of parents, religion & traditions, media, family, friends and societal prospects. It can cause difference between children and parents.
In case of authoritarian parenting, kids get no space at all which makes them drift away from their parents. This parenting style subjects them to punishment when making a mistake and gives no room for learning or correcting the mistake in a constructive way. Similar things happen with permissive parenting where parents exercise very little control over their children. Here too, kids never get to learn the things vital for their overall development.
Preventing the Problems
The only way to keep these factors at bay and prevent them creating any problem that can harm your relationship with your kids is to nurture the relation in a positive manner. Understand the root causes and make a joint effort to resolve issues. Healthy discussions and talks are one great way of bridging the gap of communication and keeping the relation intact.
