Eyes: the very fact of life
Eyes are the most precious gift of God to humankind. No can even think of doing without eyes and not even ready to trade it for millions. So is the importance of the eyes in our life as it enable us to do all the necessary actions right from our daily chores to the most important one .But at the same time we should never forget the mental and physical agonies , a visually impaired child pass through . Since the childhood, when a child breathes for the very first time, he starts to take a feel of the world and the people surrounding him. When any sound is made, he turns his head towards it and shows his presence by his unclear sounds. These are his first experience of the world. But what would happen if he has no eyes since his birth. At that time the sky befalls on his parents, but later on as the child grows, his sense of frustration would become deeper as he would not be able to respond the way the other normal children of his age do.
The physical and mental agonies
Sometimes the blinds are just the ones on whom the society takes pity. They are treated as something different who come from the other planet and who are not at par with others as far as the routine life is concerned. They are thought to be the burden on the family as well as the society, though it is not the perception of the parents and the siblings but many a times the situation arises when the blind himself feels as an obstruction because of whom his family or friends can not do their own things. And this helplessness creates a frustration. This frustration becomes more intense when he could not see the beautiful Mother Nature and its creations like the others do. Really it is a curse if it is to be thought from their point of view. They are depended on others for their entire individual requirement and no amount of the privacy is available for them.
The need to pay special attention
Sometimes in some people, the blindness is not a total one. It means the range of the blindness starts from a complete loss of vision to the amount of a fairly visible sight. Besides , it is said that God is kind one and treats everyone equally , and if he deprive somebody of some thing , He compensate him with other abilities which is sometime even greater than a normal person can even think of. Also it is necessary that not all the blind children should be put on the same level. Everyone has his own speciality and they should be treated like this. It should be the aim that the hidden talent should be tapped out of every child and accordingly they should be guided to learn the skill and by conquering natural disability, they should learn to make their life better and liveable.
The skill the visually handicapped children need to learn
The visual deficiency of a child totally changes his attitude for learning and getting the information. They can not, like their normal counterparts, take part in their normal school activities. This way the world has become limited place for their growth. So for their education, a visually impaired child needs, along with classroom studies, a fair amount of the special attention. For that purpose, there are specialised and certified instructors who are armed with such type of training that are helpful to meet the requirements of a visually handicapped and in turn, they are capable of taking out the hidden skills of such children and by just polishing these skills, they sometimes, become successful in taking the best out of him which, in turn, one day make the society proud of him. Some of the examples are Helen Keller, Beethoven etc. The level of imparting the specialised training to the visually impaired children has grown up to such level that today it is possible to impart the technical as well as computer knowledge with the active use of the machines.
This way it looks that despite the curse of nature, a blind man is no more an undesired one in the society.
