It is true that nutritional food helps your child to grow and makes us fit. But without exercise your child would become lazy and fat. With lives becoming more complex, children these days get so busy and tired in school that they hardly get time to play and work out. All they do is watch television or play games. Their physical activity has been restricted making him more and more lazy.

These days we see a lot of children suffering from diseases like obesity, high blood pressure etc. It is all due to lack of proper exercise. Thus the parents should encourage their children to workout daily so that they remain fit and healthy throughout. The habit of exercising cannot be inculcated in the child in a day or two. To make it a habit for your child the parents themselves have to follow it and slowly and gradually the children will learn and start exercising daily.

If your child is finding the exercise boring then try and encourage him or her to play some outdoor games which require physical work. This would not only serve as an alternative to exercise but also your child can have a good future in sports.
Depending upon the age group the children have a definite time to play and exercise. For a toddler it should be half an hour. Leave your kid to walk or run freely in the ground. Encourage him to play games which require physical labor. For the school going kids it should an hour or so. Motivate your child to play games like soccer, cricket, football etc.
