What is diarrhea?
Diarrhea is commonly known as loose motion. A person suffering from diarrhea passes watery stools or loose stools many times in a day. Diarrhea is a common ailment and can happen to anyone young or old. In such a situation the body looses water content and this leads to dehydration. A person may feel fragile due to dehydration. One may need to consult a doctor in case of severe diarrhea or if blood is passed along with stools but for minor diarrhea cases following home remedies will be helpful.

Home remedies to cure diarrhea

As there will be loss of water, drinking water will be beneficial. In a glass of water add one teaspoon of sugar and little salt to it. Keep drinking this water frequently.

Honey is a natural remedy for diarrhea. Take about 8-9 ounces of water and add about3-4 tablespoon of honey.
Drink this to cure diarrhea.

Add one teaspoon of ginger juice in boiling water and have this at regular intervals to get rid of diarrhea.

Have butter milk to cure diarrhea, add black salt and roasted cumin seeds (jeera) in it to make it more effective.

Coconut water, rice water or barley water will also be of great help to cure diarrhea.

Have curd mixed with cumin seeds (jeera) for better digestion after meals.

Have a juice of Indian gooseberry (amla) and add some lemon juice and sugar. It is an effective and quick remedy to cure diarrhea.

Have curd mixed with Spiegel seeds for quick reliefs have it at least twice.

In a glass of water add about one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and mix it well. Have this water with meals.

To cure diarrhea effectively boil water and allow it to cool down, now add two cups of water, ½ teaspoon of kelp and 3 teaspoon of black pepper powder. Have this water at regular intervals.

An effective home remedy is to make a paste of lemon and mix salt in it. Intake of this paste for about 2-3 times in a day will be helpful. Have one teaspoon of this paste each time.

Take white cumin seeds and fennel seeds (saunf) in equal amounts. Roast them and chew some with water during the day in a gap of 4-5 hours.

Drinking mango nut powder with water will also be helpful to cure diarrhea.

To cure diarrhea have curd mixed with one teaspoon of ginger juice and mango juice.

Useful and quick home remedy is to chop some basil (tulsi) leaves. Make sure it is finely chopped. Now add some black pepper powder, ¼ teaspoon of salt and 2-3 tablespoon of curd in the chopped tulsi leaves. Chewing this mixture 2-3 times in a day will help in curing diarrhea. This also regulates the digestion process and will make you feel better.

Increase your intake of carbohydrates and proteins if you are suffering from persistent diarrhea.

Boil milk and discard the upper layer of the milk. Now add coffee in it and drink this. This is an easy and instant home remedy to cure diarrhea.

If you are experiencing more watery stools, drink carrot juice this will make the stool pass out less watery.
