Introduction
Conjunctivitis is the irritation of the mucus membrane, conjunctiva. It is also known as Pink eye or madras eye. It must be taken seriously as it is a chronic infection of the inner membrane of the eyes and the patient should be secluded so that the infection doesn’t spreads to others. It is usually caused by a viral infection. It causes itching, pain or tearing. It is transmittable due to which becomes difficult to prevent children from spreading it to both the eyes.

The simplest treatment is to put one drop of castor oil, three times a day.

Make a solution of 1 quart of boiled water and 1 tbsp of boric acid. Allow it to cool off.
