Cradle cap is nothing but a flaky and dry patch of skin on the scalp of your baby’s head. Usually it is nothing to worry and goes away with the right treatment and proper care. In fact it rarely gets to the stage where it becomes a serious condition and in most cases goes away on its own. It is highly common in infants and in case of serious condition you can contact your pediatrician.

The dry skin will eventually fall of on its own, so all the super worrying mommies out there, don’t pick on the cradle cap of you baby. Be patient and give it some time, it will peel off on its own. Even when bathing and combing your baby, be gentle while brushing the scalp.

There are shampoos available which are specially created for using on cradle scalp. This way there is no way that your baby will get a wrong reaction on his scalp due to chemicals in normal baby shampoos.

Apply hydrocortisone cream to your baby’s scalp. It works well on all kinds of baby skin problems and should be taken when prescribed by the pediatrician.
