Piercing a baby girl’s ear is quite a tradition in many families and religion. But as a parent you must be careful to ensure that no medical crises are generated as a result of this tradition. Before getting your baby girl’s ear pierced, make sure that the instrument used for the piercing is clean and sterile. Use of a dirty post can cause infection in the earlobe. The basic thing that can be done is to keep the initial post in the ear for up to 3 weeks. The clamps shouldn’t be too tight either. Infection can be identified by reddening of the ear lobe and collection of pus. Try and keep the pierced area clean by rubbing alcohol or disinfectant every day.
Make sure that your small baby girl doesn’t play around with her ear piercing otherwise she might injure herself and cause infection or serious damage to the earlobe. Moreover if your child to allergic to some kind of metal. Then wearing earrings of that metal can cause serious infection to the earlobe of your kid. Lastly, the small earring can also be a play hazard to your kids. You never know they might take it off and put it into their mouths.
