Bathing your new born can often be a gruesome task. Babies can either be finicky about it, as well as enjoy it. There are certain rules that you need to stick to while bathing your baby. Using clean hands, a soft towel and lukewarm water is best for your baby. It is also safe not to expose your baby to water for a long span of time.
You can start by undressing the baby a few minutes before you decide to give your baby a bath. While bathing, allow the baby’s body to stay in water for some time. Start cleaning from the upper parts of the body and slowly go down to the lower parts and finally the dirtier parts. It is a good practice to clean the hair right at the end, as it allows the baby to preserve the body heat. You can use some amount of good quality baby soap, or can also bathe him with pure water.
After it is over, rinse the baby absolutely dry, and wrap him in a clean towel immediately. You can give your baby a long cuddle after the bath. Remember, bathing does not mean only cleanliness, it also conveys a lot of affection.
