Juhi Parmar who is better known as Kumkum is India’s one of the most beloved on-screen Bahu is going to make her comeback on the small screen almost after 4 years. She was last seen in Big Boss season 5 where she emerged the winner.
She took a break from acting after giving birth to her daughter. Now that her daughter is of 3years and has started going school, Juhi is all set to return to the small screen. She said in an interview, “My daughter is small and needs me. I can’t leave her at home to shoot 25 days a month. Work can wait, but not my child. I was offered several shows, but being a hands-on mother, I wanted my child to grow up enough to understand that she has a working mom. I was always dedicated to my my work, but the need of the hour was to show the same dedication towards my daughter.”
Juhi had put on a lot of weight during her pregnancy. Today she is 17 kilos lighter. In a talk regarding her impressive weight loss she revealed that she did not want to opt for any crash diet since she wanted to lose the weight organically. She says, “I had put on a lot of weight during my pregnancy, which was inevitable. I was completely focused on my baby and her nutrition for which I had to eat properly. Once she was of a certain age, I started concentrating on my health. I did not want to go on a crash diet, but wanted to lose weight organically. I hired a personal trainer for workouts and followed a proper diet. I did simple cardio exercises and basic weight lifting. I ate right and never starved myself.”
She focused on working out six days a week. However, this journey was not easy for her since she suffers from hypothyroidism wherein metabolism slows down and it becomes difficult to lose weight. Juhi says, “Had I not been suffering from hypothyroidism, I would have lost more in less time. It was this health issue that made me put on weight in the first place, and I struggled with it for four years. I have never aspired for size zero. I am happy with the way I look now.”
