The project to dress up as famous women started when Scout’s Nonnie (grandmother) was down with breast cancer and the family was going through a very tough time. Scout got really worried and her mother decided to take something up that can distract all of them and somehow put their minds to rest. Her mother’s motive was to teach the 3-year old Scout and remind herself that women are fighters. Hence, for the project she chose strong and fierce famous women.

They put together a list of famous women they wanted to shoot and Scout was taught a little bit of every person they were going to shoot. After that they selected the photo they wanted to recreate. The project took a little under a year to complete. They were on it throughout Nonnie’s diagnosis, treatment and mastectomy surgery.

Scout’s mother feels that the project was a Godsend for all of them and Scout was learning a lot about what women can be capable of. She keeps her fingers crossed and hopes that by the time she
