The female condom is not very popular but it is a convenient contraception device. Not only does it protect a woman from unplanned pregnancy but it also prevents transmission of any kind of sexually transmitted disease. It is in the form of pouch known as FC. It is very soft, thin and odorless. The FC is pre lubricated so no worries about that. The pouch is either made of plastic polyurethane or Nitrile (synthetic latex). These two materials are strong enough to withstand strong sexual intercourse. They are stronger than latex used in men condoms.

The female condom like male condom is worn by a woman during intercourse. It is worn in such a way that it covers the inner walls of the vagina. It barricades entry of sperm into the uterus and therefore comes under the barrier methods of contraception. The female condom has two rings the inner ring holds the pouch in place inside the vagina, the outer ring allows entry and lies onto the opening of the vagina. The pouch can slide in any position the man wants, the rings make sure that the inner wall of the vagina is secured.
