A very important aspect of the admission process at any preschool is the interview of your child. Parents would like to know as much about the interview as possible to prepare their child for it. The child is tested for some basic knowledge and there is no need to pressurize a child for the interview. Some questions are commonly asked during interviews, which have been listed below.
Questions are based on the child’s ability to use his 5 senses. The child can be tested to identify shapes, objects, colours, animals and birds. Activities like drawing and craft can be conducted to judge the creativity of the child. Furthermore, the school authority assesses the behaviour of the child and his ability to follow directions. Any interesting object like a toy or painting might be placed before the child and his conduct observed. The child may be asked to describe the object, which shows both his communication skills and observational ability. At home, the parents can prepare the child to express his thoughts fluently by constant practice. Be supportive of your child at all times, and train him to become part of a group, make friends and follow instructions, as this is what matters most.
