When you are pregnant and about to deliver a baby, it’s the most precious and anxious time of your life.
The journey initiated from the time you leave your home in labor pain, for the hospital, involves and encompasses all the emotions you have had in this whole phase of pregnancy, which reaches to the most satisfying end when you bring the most beautiful gift of God in your hands, back to your home, where now you will embark upon a new chapter of your life.
However, at this moment there are thousands of thoughts going through your mind about what will happen now? Being parents for the first time, you definitely feel pressure and bit scared too about the baby’s health.
So let's go through a few things you need to keep in mind before you go home:

1. Before you leave the hospital, consult your doctor and clear all the doubts and confusions especially when you had a C-section.
2. Talk to dietician post delivery and enlist all the healthy food you should eat for your baby’s good health and growth.
(Normally Dietician fee is included in your hospital bills, so why not use it fully)
3. Learn tips about when and how to bathe and clean his/her umbilical stump.
4. Sometimes you get depressed and irritated. Talk to the doctor and sort out your issues as it affects your baby too.
5. You need to know from the doctor about the baby poop as sometimes the baby may not poop for 2-3 days in a row and sometimes they might have loose motions.
6. If your baby has hiccups, then don’t give water until he/she turns six months.
7. You need to know about the body temperature, cough or cold, and fever or when the baby is hungry and burping after you feed from the doctor so that you may not have to be tensed later and rush to the hospital for every little thing
8. Another important thing is how you are taking your baby home. Make sure your baby and you both are comfortable and reach home safely. You need to keep your house clean. If there are other children at home, then see that they may not make much noise and scare the baby. Keep your pets away from your baby.
