You are now done with your pregnancy period, now is the time to hold bundles of joy and cuddle them in your arms. Birth of your baby, must have been a moment of joy for you. But this sometimes comes with a little of fear, anxiousness and sometimes known as the “postpartum blues”.
This generally happens after the third or the fourth day of delivery, but is very common, so do not panic about that. But when such a situation remains for a longer period of time and starts affecting your quality of life, then such a problem is known as “postpartum depression”. You might even require counseling and treatment, and it’s better for you and your family if you are out of this situational depression.
EMOTIONAL CHANGES:
After the birth of your baby, you might feel as if you are lonely, you’ll feel sad, anxious and you shall go about many such emotional changes, some are given here below:

Weak and a bleak feeling.

Sleeplessness

Feeling discomforted as to will you be able to be a good mother, and many such emotional disturbances.
Such emotional breakdown is generally known as “baby blue”, which vanishes in a few weeks and require no treatment.
The menace of this kind of depression increases all the more when:

The wife does not get emotional support from her husband and the family.

When the family matters are chaotic and are not peaceful.

Any such previous incidences of “depression”.

Any supplementary matters in the family such as, death of a loved one etc.
SYMPTOMS OF POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION:
Postpartum depression isn’t something to worry about but one must be a little bit cautious. Following are some of the symptoms of it:

There are also some symptoms of depression noticed after delivery. Some of them are:

Feeling of hopelessness, worthlessness etc might be felt.

PHYSICAL CHANGES IN THE BODY AFTER DELIVERY:
Physical changes in a woman’s body after delivery play a very important role.
There is a considerable drop in the levels of hormones such as estrogen and progesterone, which are responsible for mood swings of a woman who has had a delivery a few days back. There are women who manage to get through this phase of life, but many do not, because all do not get the same kind of support family and their husbands.
Some other reasons might include

The thyroid gland secretes hormones on a very low level, which often results in depression, tiredness, appetite changes, sleeplessness, guilt feeling etc.

It is a very hard labor for a woman to give birth to a child, which is very tiring as well.

She lacks rest after delivery, in taking care of the baby, feeding it, waking up late in the night in order get him peaceful sleep all this upsets her entire system if she does not take proper rest and sleep. Even this is a main cause of “postpartum depression”.
