There is a lot of sickness a woman encounters during her pregnancy cycle. Some occur due to psychological reasons while a few are triggered by the hormones. The sickness type varies amidst women depending upon their body structure and physical health.
Some feel dizzy after waking up in the morning, some feel puckish while a lot many women don't even experience any symptom. This is often called as Somatesthesia or the feeling of being sick during the morning course. Usually the symptom of morning sickness prevails during the initial days of pregnancy and there is nothing to panic, as this is completely normal.
When should I see my OB?
It is always good to visit the OB during the early symptom stages and get treated instead of going when the condition becomes more vexed as gestation symptom progress. Before your symptoms become unbearable, your OB gynecologist should have you checked in order to put you under proper medications. However, some doctors don’t give any medicines for a sickness symptom because they believe it might affect the child in your womb.
What can I do to help myself?
-
Eat in moderation to avoid heartburn symptoms. Eating is a must for a gestating mom because vomiting often results due to an empty stomach.
-
As much as possible, you should avoid fried foods as they can upset your tummy making you vomit.
-
Look for foods that are rich in protein like eggs, milk, cheese, lean meats, bread, fruits, tilt meats, healthy grains, pulses and seeds and those rich with vitamin B such as curd.
-
Keep some healthy snack by your bedside so that when you feel like eating you already have ready-made food for you to munch anytime.
-
You should increase your fluid intake and have good exercise.
-
Sometimes vomiting is just a state of mind. Try not to think that you’re going to vomit and you will not. Always project a happy and positive attitude so the burden of gestation will lessen.
-
Stay away from stress as excessive tiredness may cause nausea and will just worsen the ill feeling you are suffering from.
