Ingredients needed for preparing the dough:
250gms flour
2 teaspoons of dry yeast (dissolved in 5-6 teaspoons of hot water)
1 tablespoon sugar
2 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
Ingredients needed for pizza
1 big cup of tomato puree/sauce
2 big onions (cut into rings)
1 big bell pepper (cut into thin slices)
1 packet grated mozzarella cheese
Few olives and jalapenos
Ingredients needed for tomato sauce
1.5 kgs tomatoes
1 finely chopped large onion
1 tablespoon refined oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon red chili powder
½ teaspoon oregano
½ teaspoon pepper
Method to make the pizza dough
1. Dissolve the yeast in hot water for about 6 to 7 mins.
2. Mix flour, oil, salt, sugar and dissolved yeast in a bowl and knead it until the dough is soft.
3. Leave the kneaded dough for about an hour. The dough will be double in size.
4. Again knead the dough and make balls of equal size. Now with a rolling pin flatten the dough to make a fine pizza base.
Method to make tomato sauce
1. Boil water and leave the tomatoes for about 10 mins in hot water, transfer the tomatoes into a bowl of cold water and remove the skin and grate it to make a puree.
2. In a pan heat the oil and add onions to it. Sauté the onions for about 4-5 mins.
3. Now add the tomato puree, add salt, sugar, red chili powder, pepper and oregano and cook for about 10 mins on low flame.
Method to make pizza
1. Pre heat the oven for about 20 mins on 150C.
2. Place the round shaped pizza dough on a greased (with butter) baking pan; if the dough is sticky you can sprinkle some flour on the pan.
3. Spread the tomato sauce evenly around the dough, place onions and bell pepper over it.
4. Top it up with grated mozzarella cheese. You can also add some olives and jalapeños.
5. Now bake the pizza in the pre heated oven for about 15 mins till the crust turns brown and cheese starts melting.
