Dhokla is a famous snack of Gujaratis, it is also popular in the whole of India and is relished by most of the North India. Preparing a Dhokla is extremely easy and is also less time consuming.
Ingredients :

2 cups of gram flour(commonly known as besan)

1 cup of yogurt which has been beaten properly

Add a tablespoon of salt for taste

½ tablespoon of turmeric powder
-
1 teaspoon of ginger and green chilli paste

2 tablespoons of oil
-
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
-
1 teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate
-
1 teaspoon of mustard seeds
-
2 teaspoons of coriander leaves which are fresh and properly chopped

½ cup of scraped coconut
Method:
1.Make a mixture of the gram flour (or besan) and yogurt in a bowl. Add a little amount of warm water to the mixture and stir well. Try and avoid the formation of lumps.
2.Now add a pinch of salt to the mixture.
3.Leave the mixture aside for 2-3 hours for fermentation.
4.Now to the fermented mixture of gram flour, add the paste of ginger and green chilli.
5.A thali should be greased with oil while steamer is being heated.
6.A mixture of lemon juice, oil (1 teaspoon) and soda bicarbonate should be prepared in a bowl.
7.Add the contents of bowl to the mixture of gram flour and whisk it for a brief while.
8.Pour the above batter into the thali which was greased with oil and put it on the heated steamer.
9.Cover the mixture and steam should be given for around 10 minutes.
10.When it is cooled off a bit, cut small pieces out of it and place in a plate.
11.Take a pan, heat oil in it and then pour mustard seeds. When the seeds heat up and start making a crackling sound, remove them.
12.Pour them over the small cut pieces of Dhoklas.
Our Dhoklas are now ready. Serve in a bowl and garnish with scraped coconut and coriander leaves.
