Here is the recipe for a healthy Khichdi dish.
Ingredients:

1 cup washed and drained basmati rice

1 cup washed and drained yellow lentils or peas (mung daal)

About 4 cups of water

½ teaspoon Cumin seeds

1 teaspoon oil

Salt to taste
Method:
1. Heat the oil in a heavy bottomed pan like a pressure cooker so that the rice and lentils can be easily accommodated in it.
2. Heat the oil in a pan. When the oil is heated properly add cumin seeds to it. Heat until the cumin seeds start spluttering. Do not keep them long enough to burn.
3. Fold the yellow lentil seeds and rice. Thereby add the cumin seeds with the rice and yellow lentils. Mix well.
4. Add water, and stir.
5. Add salt to taste.
6. Let it boil for some time.
7. Lower the heat, cover the pot partially and cook until the rice is cooked.
8. Your Khichdi is prepared. Serve hot with coriander garnishing. You serve curd or yogurt along with it.
