The answer to the above question, “are extracurricular activities important” is “YES”. Your child needs to be involved in all kinds of activities especially sports. There are parents who want their kids to study, study and study all day long. That is not healthy for a child. As a parent it is your responsibility to encourage your child to be an active part of all kinds of sports and social activities. If your kid is not good at a game encourage him to at least participate and be a mediocre rather than sitting at home and playing games on computer.
When your kids are small you don’t realize the importance of extracurricular activities but when they grow up and start applying for colleges your realize that extracurricular activities also look good on your CV. The activities, games and social events that a person is involved in can talk a lot about the personality of the person. Extracurricular activities are important for overall development of your kid.
Extracurricular activities mainly include sports, cheerleading, organizing social events, taking part in community competitions like painting, drawing, sketching, debate, reporting, editing, swimming, collage making, etc. The list is never ending. Encourage your kid to take
part in at least two or three such activities.
