WHAT SHOULD SHE EAT?
Your baby is fast approaching her 1st birthday! Just 3 more weeks, and she will be a full one year old! Compared to you, she requires more nutrients for proper development and growth. And because her stomach is not fully developed, in fact, it is still very small, therefore, small amounts of food that you give her will have to contain a considerably high amount of nutrients, so that the complimentary food that she eats gives her a sufficient boost of energy and will also help her to grow in leaps and bounds.
WHAT WILL SHE DO AT THIS TIME?
All these weeks, your baby has been busy cataloging information, putting away each nugget of knowledge and piece of observation for future use! So she very well knows that all her toys are stored in a big box at the end of the day, and the television comes on at the press of the remote button! But these observations have become ingrained in her after days of practice and repetition, so even now, she might make a beeline for the TV every time it is turned on, and will have to be taken away ever so often, over and over again till she finally understands.
WHAT YOU COULD HELP HER DO!
Your baby is on the verge of walking, if she hasn’t already, and soon, she will be taking her first firm steps! Do not worry about her posture at this stage, or her gait. She is right now still working on her balance, and once she becomes more adept at it, she will be walking with more grace. Pushing toys will be her favorite pastime now, so she will love to play with push carts, ride-on toys with high backs, even chairs or small stools, will become her favorite playing pastimes. She will even enjoy sitting inside an empty box while she is being pushed around. Give her an empty box, and watch her fill it up with toys and push them all over the house!
WHAT ABOUT HER SLEEP?
To avoid danger to your baby while she is sleeping, you could well keep in mind the following suggestions:
-
Always make sure your pet is not reachable to baby when she is sleeping.
-
Baby must have very sound sleep to grow properly, so avoid any noise when baby is dreaming yummy!
-
Keep an eye on her and do not forget to change the nappy immediately!
WHAT SHE WILL WEIGH
It has been seen that on an average, babies double or even triple their weights by the time they are one year old, but only gain a few kgs between their 1st and 2nd birthdays. Now that your baby is eating almost all foods, she will be rapidly gaining weight. How fat or chubby she is not of importance. What is important is that she should be steadily gaining weight. If she looks listless or not her usual self, or not very energetic, you should be consulting your doctor.
