How Big is Your Baby?
At week 14 of your pregnancy, the baby is about 3.4 inches and weighs 1.5 ounces. It has almost doubled in weight as compared to the last week.
Baby’s growth and development
The baby in this week sucks its thumb and wiggles its tiny toes in there. Its kidneys have started making the urine, and the liver and spleen too are performing their functions well. It will now grow lanugo, a thin and peach-full like hair on the whole body. This keeps the baby warm.
MOTHER’S DEVELOPMENT
How you may feel?
You can now very well see that the lower abdomen starts pouching out gradually, you may feel excited but then you won’t really look as if you are pregnant for many more weeks to come. Your breasts will seem to be fuller and larger.
You might feel anxiety, there will be emotional breakdowns at times, and all you need to do is to relax. These are very common emotional changes.

Tests
It is advised that you get an appointment for a screening called the “maternal serum screening”, which provides you the information regarding the growth of the baby, and if any possible birth defects.
If your age is above 35 years of age, then a test called “amniocentesis” is carried out between 15 to 18 weeks of pregnancy.
Exercise
Be regular with the exercises and do the ones recommended by the doctor. Do not take up or do exercises as you feel like. They might stretch your body and be really painful.
