Summer has knocked the door and soon we will be surrounded by hot sunny days. There is going to be lots of sweating and exhaustion. Be it kids or grownups, summer heat becomes unbearable of all alike.
If you too are worried about the summer heat and want to enjoy the season without worrying much about heat stroke and other problems arising due to excessive rise in temperatures; follow these quick tips to beat the summer heat. These are perfect for all age groups, right from kids to grownups. This will help you stay fit and keep the heat at bay. Have a look:
1. Drink plenty of water
This is the first and foremost thing everyone must be doing without fail. Heat makes your body lose water in the form of sweating which can lead to dehydration. To ensure that your body’s water level is maintained, increase your daily intake of water. Try drinking 10-12 glasses throughout the day. Also, when going out, do carry a water bottle along as this will make you stay hydrated.
2. Walk out in sun covering your head & face
Summer doesn’t give you the right to sit inside your house walls. You surely have a life outside which needs to be maintained. Just make sure, whenever you have to step out in sun; you cover your face and head particularly. This will prevent direct sun rays from hitting you. You can even carry an umbrella for that matter but still keep the face covered.
3. Eat fresh fruits
Dehydration is the major problem everyone tends to face during summer. Therefore, it is a must that you always keep the body hydrated as this will give it the needed strength to fight summer heat. Eat plenty of fresh fruits as watermelon, grapes, oranges etc. Make them a part of your daily diet.
4. Wear cotton clothes
For summers, stick to loose or cotton clothes as they make you feel less hot. The soft fabric gives you the needed comfort and prevents excessive sweating as well. Cotton clothes can be your best shield during summers.
5. Rely on healthy coolants
You for sure will be taking enough water, but along with it, your body would need some healthy coolants too. Instead of switching to carbonated drinks, go for the healthy options like fresh fruit juices, buttermilk or lassi. You can even have coconut water as it also fills the water needs of your body and provides many nutrients. Lemon water too is a great choice.
6. Watch your diet
In summers you will need to be very particular about what you or your family members are eating. It would be great if you can reduce the oil intake and cut down too much of spice in your everyday food. Junk foods in summers are a strict NO and you must abstain from them.
7. Never step out in sun on an empty stomach
Your body will react adversely to heat if it lacks the needed energy. Therefore, whenever you step out of the house, make sure you are never on an empty stomach. Either drink some coolant like coconut water or eat a very light meal.
8. Stick to lighter shades
Dark colors like the shade of black tend to avoid more heat from sun thus making you feel hot. For summers, change your choice of colors and bring in some cool shades which will make you feel refreshed.
9. Avoid being in sun for too long
Don’t stay out in the sun for very long hours as the longer you stay out, the more heat your body will absorb. Make sure you limit your outdoor activities during day time and if at all it’s necessary, take the necessary precautions.
10. Change your exercise pattern too
If you love going for morning walks, make sure that you do it in the early hours; before the sun rises. Once the sun is over your head, you will not be able to enjoy the walk effectively. Bring a change in all those exercises of yours where you have the chance of facing more of heat.
Summer heat will never be a trouble for you if you can take care of these tips. Keep yourself and your loves ones safe from heat!
