Ner's mother is quite idealistic, abstract and heady, whereas the Ner relies basically on the instinct, intuitions and inner gut feelings. Ner's mother is often baffled by Ner's passions, insane loves and hates, and intensely emotional responses. This is because Ner's mother rational and cerebral. The two never succeed in building a long-term relation because of their differences in thinking and behavior.
