Samikhya is quite idealistic, abstract and heady, whereas the Samikhya's mother relies basically on the instinct, intuitions and inner gut feelings. Samikhya is often baffled by Samikhya's mother's passions, insane loves and hates, and intensely emotional responses. This is because Samikhya rational and cerebral. The two never succeed in building a long-term relation because of their differences in thinking and behavior. Samikhya's mother longs for emotional support and attention while Samikhya fails to provide the same as freedom is more important to an Samikhya. They need friends but they aren't emotionally dependent on them the way Samikhya's mother is. Samikhya is more of unemotional, aloof and cooler in attitude than Samikhya's mother. This creates emotional gap in their relation which can be very hard to fill.
